Press Release from the City of Lake City:
LAKE CITY, S.C. (September 10, 2024) – Now open! After several construction and supply chain delays, LC 278, Lake City’s new community center, celebrated its Grand Opening Sept. 6 with hints of what’s to come.
Part of a long-term plan to help revitalize the south end of Lake City, the event featured tours of the facility with demonstrations of potential uses, heavy hors d’oeuvres, & live music from Soulution.
“This facility will be a focal point in the community for a long time to come,” said city administrator William A. Hall. “It will give our youth and all community members the opportunity to participate in recreational activities while in a fun and safe environment. We also want to be able to have a spot for our community members to plan and host their own events.”
LC 278, named for Lake City and its 278 Cole Road address, will house summer camps, esports programs, classes for seniors, and other activities throughout the year for Lake City residents. The center also provides space for city employees to gather for important meetings without incurring addition costs to the city. In addition, LC 278 offers the perfect backdrop for a wide range of events and celebrations whether you're planning a family reunion, wedding, gala, or corporate gathering.
