The Greater Lake City Community Resource Center (GLCCRC) is a vital program of The Lake City Creative Alliance, dedicated to supporting families and individuals in need throughout the Lake City area. With a strong commitment to fostering stability and well-being, GLCCRC provides essential resources, programs, and outreach initiatives that directly impact the lives of local residents.
Our Mission: Lake City Community Outreach offers programs ranging from charitable, human service, educational, and community development activities and projects that are meant to restore hope in residents and promote self-sufficiency.
At the heart of GLCCRC’s mission is the drive to address basic needs and enhance the quality of life for families in our community and beyond. Through a variety of programs, the center offers tangible support, including diaper assistance, food donations, clothing distribution, and seasonal giving initiatives.
Recognizing the financial burden that purchasing diapers can place on families, GLCCRC runs a bi-monthly Diaper Day program. This initiative provides essential diaper packs to families in need. Participants must schedule an appointment in advance by calling 843-374-0400, ensuring that every family receives the support they require.
To combat food insecurity in the area, GLCCRC organizes a monthly food donation drive. The center encourages donations of specific staple food items each month, making it easier for the community to contribute to the cause.
It's the most wonderful time... of the summer! The Greater Lake City Community Resource Center collects new unwrapped toys for children ages 3-12 throughout the month of July. All donations go towards the center's Santa's Toy Shop Event in December, which benefits underprivileged children in the community. The deadline for donations is Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 5:00 PM.
The Clothing Distribution Program is a quarterly free clothing giveaway that provides community neighbors in need with clothing items. Clothing Giveaways are two-day events from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. No appointments are needed. Participants are asked to bring a bag for collecting items.
The holiday season brings an extra layer of generosity through Santa’s Toy Shop, an initiative designed to bring joy to children ages 3-12 in need. The event, set for Friday, December 5, 2025, provides children with a special holiday gift while easing financial stress on parents and guardians.
