Broderick Flanigan’s murals are created from narratives guided by local communities that explore the rich African American experience and history. In 2015, he founded a mural program for teens in which they not only learn about public art, they also get to assist in the execution of the project. Broderick believes that it is up to community leaders to create opportunities for people to thrive.
This mural is created in partnership with Lake City community members, students, and the Lake City ArtFields Collective and honors Elouise Cooper and Derrick Faison.
