Yes, palms can withstand a deep winter freeze. For example, the Saw Palmetto Palm (also known as Sabal Palm) grows all over southeastern United States and is cold hardy, tolerating below-freezing temperatures. This class will go over a list of palms suitable for the Southeast; the background of palms in the Southeast and myths about them; how to understand them; and how to grow them.
Join us on Saturday, September 21 from 10AM-Noon to expand your knowledge about palms. Registration is $15 per person. This class involves a walk through the garden, so please dress appropriately.
