Moore Farms Botanical Garden is wildly beautiful, creative and soulful; a place of both inspiration and comfort, where plants rule and there is a feeling of discovery, a sense of hitting upon something that others haven’t. Nestled among fields of corn and soybeans, this dynamic 50-acre garden is set in the rural Pee Dee region near Lake City, South Carolina. Embracing its southern pastoral setting through an informal, expressive design scheme, the garden is a careful blend of exuberant plant displays, bounding meadows and enduring vistas of grey-green pines. Woven throughout this aesthetic tapestry are innovative research, educational programs and community outreach. The resulting union of art and scholarship is a dazzling example of the modern botanical garden.
Since 2002, Moore Farms Botanical Garden has been a horticultural jewel in Southeast, with over fifty acres dedicated to the research and propagation of native and are plants and trees. The garden features an education center, a greenhouse and green roof project, and countless workshops and classes for gardeners and enthusiasts of all types.
Horticulture and gardening offers diverse opportunities for personal and professional growth. With a beautiful setting, first rate facilities and professional staff, Moore Farms Botanical Garden is the perfect learning environment. We strive to not only interpret horticulture, but also to increase awareness, sensitivity and appreciation for the natural world. Our programs are appropriate for all skill levels, including beginners, college students, garden enthusiasts and professionals. Hone your skills, learn new techniques and make new friends. Just like gardens, gardening experiences are meant to be shared. Classes and workshops are offered monthly and be sure to check out their website for garden open dates and tours information.
This non-profit garden also presents an array of community events from the annual Beer Fest to Muscadine, a celebration of one of the South’s most treasured fruits. Moore Farms Botanical Garden offers an incredible backdrop to festivals that benefit our local community.
